The Asia Program at Washington State University offers both a bachelor of arts and minor in Asian studies, as well as two certificate programs in East Asian studies. The rich cultural heritages of East Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East are examined through course work in language, literature, history, culture, philosophy, art, religion, anthropology, political science, and film. Study abroad is very strongly encouraged.

Housed entirely in the Asia Program, ASIA 303 allows us to offer class credit for a variety of experiences, from lectures to movie series to excursions. The inaugural class invited students to explore our regional Asian studies conference, hosted on the WSU Pullman campus in 2018. Students attended panels, interviewed scholars, and participated in social gatherings and cultural events. The class offered a better understanding of the diverse research paths and regional foci within our field and helped soften the barrier that sometimes exists between undergraduates and those further advanced in the field of academia.
